Ya’an (Bridge-Maker, in Elvish) of House Ollis is a monk of the order of Llandry, located in the forest by the same name. Ya’an studies the path of the Llandry monks: to study, obey, and master one’s ki. Ya’an has been a faithful student of the order for a decade, and has recently been commanded that he leave the order solely to enrich his ki.
It has been nearly a year of traveling West from Llandy, with the belief that travel, in and of itself, would enlighten him. Finding a raging river flowing North from distant southern mountains, Ya’an hopes to find people at the river delta, and take in the wisdom that the great Tenebrous Sea provides.
Unfortunately, what fate has brought is instead not people, but the ruins of a sacked city. There are fresh tracks leading to what must be the docks. Ya’an carefully followed these tracks, and that has started him on a new path…
